Drug intelligence / Profile preview
OV-CD47 is an engineered oncolytic virus designed to deliver CD47 blockade directly to the tumor microenvironment while simultaneously upregulating pro-phagocytic "eat me" signals. Developed by the University of Toronto and the Université de Sherbrooke, OV-CD47 aims to overcome the systemic toxicities and off-tumor binding to healthy red blood cells typically associated with intravenous anti-CD47 antibodies. In preclinical models of aggressive lung cancer, intratumoral administration of OV-CD47 was well-tolerated and induced robust tumor regressions, complete tumor eradication in a subset of treated mice, and long-term immunological memory against tumor re-challenge.
