Drug intelligence / Profile preview
OV815 is a preclinical gene-modulation therapy under development by Ovid Therapeutics. It is focused on the kinesin family of proteins and initially targets **KIF1A**, a motor protein essential for axonal transport in neurons. The drug is being developed as a potential genetic therapy for KIF1A-associated neurological disorder and possibly other diseases involving kinesin dysfunction. OV815 represents a novel therapeutic approach for rare genetic disorders affecting neural transport mechanisms. The program is being advanced in collaboration with the Genomics Center at Columbia University[2][5][7].
