Overview

OVA BiP peptide (also referred to as the OVA-BiP hybrid peptide) is a synthetic chimeric peptide that combines an immunodominant epitope from ovalbumin (OVA) with a binding motif derived from the immunoglobulin heavy chain-binding protein (BiP). The BiP motif enables the hybrid to bind heat shock proteins such as HSP70. This complex formation enhances antigen presentation and stimulates robust antigen-specific CD8+ T cell responses in vitro and in vivo. Immunization with the OVA-BiP–HSP70 complex has been shown to induce strong cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) responses and provide significant protection against tumor challenge in mouse models. The mechanism leverages improved delivery of antigenic peptides via HSPs, facilitating efficient cross-presentation by dendritic cells and activation of cellular immunity[2][6].
