Overview

OvamiR ONT is a preclinical microRNA-targeting oligonucleotide therapeutic (ONT) being developed by AptamiR Therapeutics for the treatment of epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) and high-grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC). The therapeutic is designed to target the folate receptor alpha (FOLR1), which is highly expressed in ovarian cancer cells, to facilitate targeted delivery and uptake. Once internalized, OvamiR ONT modulates a network of oncogenic microRNAs that drive tumor proliferation, migration, invasion, metastasis, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT). Additionally, it is designed to sensitize tumor cells to chemotherapy, addressing the significant challenge of chemoresistance in advanced ovarian cancer.
