Overview

OVM-02 is a therapeutic cancer vaccine developed using Oxford Vacmedix's proprietary Recombinant Overlapping Peptide (ROP) technology. The vaccine is designed to stimulate a robust immune response against survivin, a protein that is highly expressed in many types of cancer cells but is largely absent in healthy adult tissues. Survivin plays a critical role in inhibiting apoptosis and regulating cell division, making it an attractive target for immunotherapy. By utilizing the ROP platform, OVM-02 delivers multiple overlapping peptides that cover the entire sequence of the survivin protein, which facilitates the presentation of a broad range of epitopes to both CD4+ and CD8+ T cells. This approach aims to overcome the limitations of single-peptide vaccines and induce a more comprehensive and durable anti-tumor immune response. OVM-02 is currently being investigated in clinical trials for the treatment of various solid tumors, including non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), prostate cancer, and ovarian cancer.
