Drug intelligence / Profile preview
OVV-00 is an investigational oncolytic vaccinia virus (OVV) being developed by The First Affiliated Hospital of Xinxiang Medical University for the treatment of advanced solid tumors. As an oncolytic viral agent, OVV-00 is designed to selectively infect and replicate within malignant cells, leading to direct tumor cell lysis (oncolysis) while sparing healthy tissues. This process releases tumor-associated antigens and pro-inflammatory signals into the tumor microenvironment, which is intended to stimulate a systemic anti-tumor immune response. In clinical development, OVV-00 is being evaluated in combination with VSV-01, an oncolytic vesicular stomatitis virus, administered via multiple intratumoral injections. This dual-virus strategy aims to leverage the distinct immunogenic profiles and mechanisms of both vaccinia and vesicular stomatitis viruses to enhance therapeutic efficacy in patients who have exhausted standard treatment options.
