Drug intelligence / Profile preview
OVV-03 is a preclinical-stage oncolytic virus therapy developed by Joint Biosciences for the treatment of HER2-positive solid tumors. The therapeutic agent is based on a genetically engineered vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV) platform, specifically modified to target the Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2 (HER2). OVV-03 is designed to selectively infect and lyse tumor cells that overexpress HER2, a mechanism that not only directly reduces tumor burden but also releases tumor-associated antigens to stimulate a systemic antitumor immune response. In addition to its use as a monotherapy, Joint Biosciences is investigating OVV-03 in combination with HER2-targeted universal CAR-T (UCAR-T) cell therapies to potentially overcome the immunosuppressive microenvironment of solid tumors and enhance clinical outcomes.
