Drug intelligence / Profile preview
OVV-05 is a preclinical-stage oncolytic virus therapy being developed by Joint Biosciences for the treatment of solid tumors. The agent is based on a Vesicular Stomatitis Virus (VSV) platform engineered to target mesothelin (MSLN), a cell surface glycoprotein that is highly expressed in several malignancies, including mesothelioma, pancreatic, and ovarian cancers. OVV-05 is designed to selectively infect and replicate within MSLN-expressing tumor cells, leading to direct tumor cell lysis. This process not only destroys the primary tumor cells but also potentially releases tumor-associated antigens that can stimulate a systemic anti-tumor immune response.
