Drug intelligence / Profile preview
OWL-1023-AI is a preclinical-stage monoclonal antibody being developed by Owl Therapeutics, a subsidiary of Gryphon Bio, for the treatment of Alzheimer's Disease (AD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Engineered using a generative AI platform and biomarker-powered precision medicine approaches, the drug is designed to 'supercharge' microglia, the resident immune cells of the brain. Its primary mechanism of action involves enhancing microglial phagocytosis of brain cell debris and pathogens, thereby supporting brain clearance mechanisms and neuroprotection. Unlike traditional monoclonal antibodies that target specific protein aggregates like amyloid-beta, OWL-1023-AI is designed to protect and enhance microglial function through a platform-designed mechanism.
