Oxacom

Oxacom is a pharmaceutical drug containing a dinitrosyl iron complex (DNIC) with glutathione, developed as a hypotensive agent. Its mechanism of action involves the release of nitric oxide (NO), which leads to vasodilation and reduction in arterial blood pressure. Preclinical studies demonstrated that DNICs with glutathione produce significant hypotensive effects at low concentrations compared to other NO donors. In early clinical trials, intravenous administration of Oxacom resulted in rapid but transient decreases in both systolic and diastolic blood pressure, followed by gradual normalization over several hours without significant adverse effects or pathological changes in clinical or biochemical parameters. The drug is being investigated for use in conditions such as pulmonary arterial hypertension[1][3].
