Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination chemotherapy regimen consisting of oxaliplatin, gemcitabine, and cisplatin emulsified with lipiodol (ethiodized oil) for transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). This combination leverages the cytotoxic effects of the chemotherapy agents while using lipiodol as a carrier to enhance tumor targeting and retention. Lipiodol selectively accumulates in tumor tissue and remains there for extended periods (4+ weeks), allowing for sustained drug delivery and follow-up imaging without re-administration.
