Overview

Oxelumab is a human monoclonal antibody that targets the OX40 ligand (OX40L; also known as TNFSF4 or CD252), a member of the tumor necrosis factor superfamily. By inhibiting the interaction between OX40 and its ligand OX40L, oxelumab modulates T cell responses and has been investigated for its potential to treat immune-mediated diseases such as asthma and allergic rhinitis. The drug was developed collaboratively by Genentech, Roche, and Genmab. Oxelumab reached phase II clinical trials for allergic asthma and phase I for allergic rhinitis but development was discontinued in both indications. Preclinical studies have also explored its effects in models of ulcerative colitis[1][3][4][5][8].
