Overview

Oxidized regenerated cellulose + collagen (brand name Promogran) is a sterile, freeze-dried wound dressing composed of 55% collagen and 45% oxidized regenerated cellulose (ORC). It is specifically designed to manage chronic wounds by modulating the biochemical environment. The dressing works by binding and inactivating excess proteases, such as matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and elastase, which are known to impede healing in chronic wounds. Additionally, it protects naturally occurring growth factors from degradation and provides a structural scaffold for cellular migration and proliferation. It is indicated for the management of all types of chronic wounds, including diabetic foot ulcers, venous leg ulcers, and pressure sores.
