Overview

OXY-sKLH is a conjugate vaccine designed for the prevention and treatment of opioid use disorder (OUD), specifically targeting oxycodone. It consists of an oxycodone-derived hapten (Oxy(Gly)4) linked to subunit keyhole limpet hemocyanin (sKLH), formulated with aluminum adjuvant. The vaccine elicits high-titer, selective antibodies against oxycodone, reducing its distribution to the brain and thereby mitigating its behavioral and pharmacological effects. Preclinical and IND-enabling toxicology studies show safety, immunogenicity, and tolerability, with no vaccine-related adverse effects observed. OXY-sKLH is undergoing Phase 1 clinical trials for OUD[1][4][6][10][14].
