Overview

Oxy16 is a naturally occurring oxysterol derivative developed by MAX BioPharma for the treatment of pancreatic cancer. As a dual-action small molecule, Oxy16 functions as an agonist of the Liver X Receptor (LXR) and an inhibitor of paracrine Hedgehog (Hh) signaling. This mechanism is intended to modulate the tumor microenvironment and inhibit the growth of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) by disrupting the signaling between tumor cells and the surrounding stroma. Oxy16 is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
