Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Oxy186 is a semi-synthetic oxysterol analog being developed by MAX BioPharma as a dual inhibitor of the Hedgehog (Hh) and WNT signaling pathways. These pathways are critical regulators of embryonic development and tissue homeostasis, but their aberrant activation is linked to the initiation and progression of various malignancies, including pancreatic and lung cancers. By simultaneously targeting both pathways, Oxy186 is designed to overcome potential resistance mechanisms associated with single-pathway inhibition. The drug is currently in the preclinical stage of development for indications such as pancreatic cancer and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
