Overview

OZ-002 is an early-stage, first-in-class anticancer candidate being developed by ONCOZEN. It targets Calponin 3 (CNN3), an actin-binding protein that is overexpressed in various cancers and is associated with epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) features, increased cancer cell invasion, and resistance to chemotherapeutic agents. ONCOZEN is developing OZ-002 primarily for the treatment of rhabdomyosarcoma (an orphan myosarcoma-related cancer), where CNN3 overexpression has been confirmed. The drug's anticancer efficacy has been demonstrated in myosarcoma-related cell lines. Additionally, ONCOZEN is investigating the potential of OZ-002 in other CNN3-overexpressing malignancies, including colorectal, breast, cervical, gastric, and ovarian cancers, as well as MALT lymphoma.
