Overview

OZC-006 is an experimental therapeutic candidate being developed by ONCOZEN for the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders, including Alzheimer's disease. It utilizes a Chaperone-Mediated Protein Degradation (CMPD) modality to target the Tau protein. The CMPD platform is designed to recruit molecular chaperones to specific pathological proteins, facilitating their transport to lysosomes for degradation, thereby bypassing the ubiquitin-proteasome system often utilized by traditional proteolysis-targeting chimeras (PROTACs). By clearing intracellular Tau aggregates, OZC-006 aims to mitigate the progression of tauopathies. The program is currently in the early drug development (preclinical) phase.
