Drug intelligence / Profile preview
OZODROP is a protective, lubricating, moisturizing, and soothing ophthalmic solution designed for the ocular surface. Its main active components are ozonated vegetable oil (delivered via the proprietary LipozonEye system), soy phospholipids (as liposomes), and hypromellose. The formulation is intended to support corneal lubrication and protection before and after eye surgery, in cases of ocular trauma or abrasions, after contact lens wear, or in situations involving dry eye syndrome or instability of the tear film. OZODROP reduces bacterial biofilm formation on the ocular surface—making bacteria more susceptible to natural defenses and antibiotics—and supports reparative processes following surgical or traumatic stress. It also helps stabilize the lipid layer of the tear film to reduce evaporation of its aqueous component[2][5][6][9]. Mechanistically, ozonated oil provides antimicrobial activity by disrupting microbial membranes and biofilms; hypromellose acts as a lubricant; liposomes enhance delivery and biotolerability[2][7]. The product is suitable for both adults and children.
