Overview

**P*17-K4S2** is an investigational bivalent peptide-based vaccine intended to prevent *Streptococcus pyogenes* group A streptococcal infection. It combines P*17, a conserved B-cell epitope derived from the C3-repeat region of streptococcal M protein, with K4S2, a peptide epitope derived from the streptococcal cell envelope protease SpyCEP. Clinical material has been reported as P*17-CRM197 and K4S2-CRM197 peptide conjugates formulated with aluminum-based adjuvant. The vaccine is designed to induce antibodies that recognize conserved *S. pyogenes* antigens, including antibodies capable of neutralizing SpyCEP-mediated impairment of neutrophil recruitment. It has been evaluated in a Phase 1 randomized study in healthy adults.
