Overview

P-1055 is an investigational epithelial sodium channel (ENaC) inhibitor being developed by Parion Sciences as an inhaled therapy for cystic fibrosis and other pulmonary diseases characterized by airway surface liquid depletion and impaired mucociliary clearance.[9] By blocking ENaC activity on airway epithelial cells, P-1055 is intended to reduce sodium and fluid absorption from the airway surface, thereby hydrating mucus, enhancing mucociliary transport, and improving pulmonary function in patients with chronic obstructive airway disease.[9] It has been studied alongside Parion’s related ENaC inhibitor P-1037 in early-phase clinical development for cystic fibrosis and potentially other chronic lung conditions.[9]
