Drug intelligence / Profile preview
P-21 is an experimental small-molecule proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9) inhibitor that has been developed by Shifa Biomedical as a lipid-lowering agent targeting dyslipidemia and related cardiovascular risk by enhancing LDL receptor recycling and lowering LDL cholesterol. As a PCSK9 inhibitor, P-21 is designed to block PCSK9-mediated degradation of hepatic LDL receptors, thereby increasing clearance of circulating LDL particles. Public information indicates that P-21 remains in early development with no active clinical indications disclosed.
