Drug intelligence / Profile preview
P-estro HL is a standardized pomegranate juice concentrate developed by HL Science as a nutraceutical for the management of menopausal symptoms. It is characterized by its high content of phytoestrogens, specifically ellagic acid and other polyphenols, which function as selective agonists for estrogen receptor beta (ERβ). By activating ERβ, P-estro HL helps alleviate common menopausal complaints such as hot flashes, night sweats, and sleep disturbances. Unlike traditional hormone replacement therapies that may non-selectively activate estrogen receptor alpha (ERα), P-estro HL's selectivity for the beta isoform is intended to provide symptomatic relief while minimizing risks of estrogen-dependent proliferative effects on the uterus and breast tissue. It is recognized as a functional health food ingredient by the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS).
