Overview

P-MUC1C-ALLO1 is a fully allogeneic chimeric antigen receptor T cell (CAR-T) therapy designed to target the Mucin 1 C-terminal subunit (MUC1-C) epitope, which is overexpressed and aberrantly glycosylated in many epithelial-derived solid tumors. The product uses a nonviral piggyBac transposon-based DNA delivery system to generate CAR-T cells highly enriched for the T stem cell memory phenotype, aiming for improved persistence and antitumor activity. It is being developed by Poseida Therapeutics for the treatment of multiple solid tumors, including breast, colorectal, lung, ovarian, pancreatic, renal cancers and other malignancies expressing cancer-specific MUC1-C. The therapy is currently in Phase 1 clinical trials evaluating safety and preliminary efficacy in adults with advanced or metastatic epithelial-derived solid tumors refractory to standard therapies[3][4][5][6][7].
