Drug intelligence / Profile preview
P-TEV is a personalized tissue-engineered vein developed as a novel, fully-biological vascular graft for the treatment of severe chronic venous insufficiency (CVI). The product is created by decellularizing and reconditioning/recellularizing donated cadaveric human vein segments, including their valves. This process results in a patient-specific biological conduit designed to restore normal venous function. Preclinical studies have demonstrated successful implantation in animal models without immunosuppression, showing no rejection or mechanical failure. P-TEV aims to provide the first curative therapy for patients with advanced CVI, addressing an unmet medical need where current treatments are only symptomatic[6].
