Drug intelligence / Profile preview
P1048 is an iron-oxide, folate-receptor-targeted contrast agent developed by Guerbet for magnetic resonance (MR) imaging of tumors, particularly ovarian tumors. It is designed to leverage the overexpression of the folate receptor (FR) in many human cancers to provide tumor-specific imaging capabilities. Preclinical studies have investigated its uptake and specificity in FR-positive ovarian cancer cells and implanted ovarian tumors in rat models.
