Drug intelligence / Profile preview
P113+ is an experimental antimicrobial peptide–based oral care ingredient related to the 12–amino acid histatin‑5–derived peptide P113, which has broad‑spectrum antibacterial and antifungal activity against oral pathogens such as Streptococcus mutans, Porphyromonas species, and Candida albicans and has been formulated in mouthrinses and oral sprays to reduce plaque, gingivitis, and oral candidiasis.[3][4][5] Like P113, it is designed to selectively disrupt microbial cell membranes and intracellular targets of key oral microorganisms while maintaining low cytotoxicity and irritation to oral mucosa, supporting its use in preventive or adjunctive management of oral infections and dental plaque–related diseases.[3][4][5]
