Overview

p21-activated kinase 4 (PAK4) siRNA is a small interfering RNA designed to silence the expression of the PAK4 gene through the RNA interference (RNAi) pathway. PAK4 is a member of the Group II p21-activated kinases and serves as a critical downstream effector for Rho family GTPases, such as Cdc42 and Rac. It is involved in various cellular processes including cytoskeletal remodeling, cell survival, and proliferation. In many human cancers, PAK4 is overexpressed and contributes to tumor progression, epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), and resistance to apoptosis or radiation. As a research reagent, PAK4 siRNA is used in preclinical models to investigate the biological consequences of PAK4 knockdown, demonstrating potential in inhibiting tumor growth and migration in malignancies such as glioblastoma, pancreatic cancer, and gastric cancer.
