Drug intelligence / Profile preview
P2V-101 is a recombinant protein vaccine candidate developed by P2V Bioscience for the prevention of COVID-19. The vaccine is based on a virus-like particle (VLP) platform designed to present the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein in a highly immunogenic format. Specifically, it may incorporate the '2P' (proline-2-variant) stabilization mutations, which involve the substitution of two consecutive residues in the S2 subunit with prolines to maintain the spike protein in its prefusion conformation. This structural stabilization is intended to enhance the elicitation of neutralizing antibodies. P2V Bioscience, a biotechnology company based in France, initiated clinical development to evaluate the safety and immunogenicity of P2V-101 in healthy adults.
