Drug intelligence / Profile preview
P3 mAb is a monoclonal antibody developed by TwoToBiotech that targets the P3 peptide, a novel human peptide hormone expressed in activated innate immune cells. By binding to the P3 peptide, the antibody modulates the immune response, specifically decreasing the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) and interferon-gamma (IFN-γ), while simultaneously increasing the levels of the anti-inflammatory cytokine interleukin-10 (IL-10). This mechanism of action makes it a potential therapeutic candidate for various autoimmune and inflammatory conditions, including multiple sclerosis (MS), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and type 1 diabetes, as well as metabolic disorders like type 2 diabetes. Currently, the drug is in the preclinical stage of development, having shown efficacy in various mouse models.
