Overview

P4HA3 siRNA is a small interfering RNA designed to silence the expression of the prolyl-4-hydroxylase α subunit 3 (P4HA3) gene. P4HA3 is a key enzyme involved in collagen synthesis, specifically catalyzing the conversion of proline residues to 4-hydroxyproline, which is essential for the stability of mature collagen. In the context of oncology, particularly renal cell carcinoma (RCC) and gastric cancer, P4HA3 acts as a tumor promoter by facilitating extracellular matrix remodeling that supports tumor progression and metastasis. By knocking down P4HA3, this siRNA inhibits cancer cell proliferation, migration, and invasion. Research has demonstrated its potential in preclinical models of RCC, where it significantly reduced tumor growth in mouse xenografts.
