Overview

P707 is a dual inhibitor of phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K) and the mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR), developed for the treatment of advanced solid tumors. By targeting both PI3K and mTOR, P707 aims to more effectively block the PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathway, which is frequently dysregulated in various cancers and plays a critical role in cell growth, proliferation, and survival. The dual inhibition strategy is intended to overcome potential resistance mechanisms associated with single-node inhibition within this pathway. P707 reached Phase 1 clinical development, where it was evaluated for safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics in patients with refractory solid tumors. However, development of the compound appears to have been discontinued by Piramal Life Sciences.
