P9-KLH is a peptide-based conjugate vaccine designed for active specific immunotherapy against cancers expressing the GD2 ganglioside. It consists of a peptide (P9) that mimics the GD2 ganglioside, covalently linked to Keyhole Limpet Hemocyanin (KLH), a highly immunogenic carrier protein. This conjugation aims to enhance the immune system's recognition of the GD2 mimic, thereby eliciting robust T-cell dependent cellular and humoral immune responses against GD2-expressing tumor cells, which are often poorly immunogenic on their own. It is being investigated for its potential in treating neuroectodermal tumors like neuroblastoma.
