Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PA-CART-BCMA-001 is an investigational autologous T cell therapy in which a patient’s own T lymphocytes are harvested, genetically engineered to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) that recognizes B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA), expanded ex vivo, and reinfused to target and kill BCMA-expressing malignant plasma cells in multiple myeloma. The product is being evaluated in clinical trials as a BCMA-directed CAR-T infusion agent, using a lymphodepleting chemotherapy regimen followed by intravenous administration of the modified T cells to achieve selective antitumor activity against BCMA-positive myeloma cells.[5]
