Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PA032 is a small molecule inhibitor of the voltage-gated potassium channel Kv1.3, developed by Hangzhou Yirui Pharmaceutical Technology. It is formulated as YR001, a 2% topical ointment intended for the treatment of inflammatory skin diseases. Kv1.3 channels are highly expressed on effector memory T cells (TEM), which play a central role in the pathogenesis of various autoimmune conditions. By blocking these channels, PA032 suppresses T-cell activation, proliferation, and cytokine release, potentially providing a localized anti-inflammatory effect with minimal systemic exposure. The drug is currently being evaluated in Phase I clinical trials for safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics.
