Overview

PA501 is a small molecule antagonist of the Leukotriene B4 receptor 2 (BLT2) currently in preclinical development by Pharvis for the treatment of severe asthma. BLT2 is a G-protein coupled receptor that plays a significant role in mediating chronic airway inflammation and hyperresponsiveness, particularly in asthma phenotypes that are resistant to corticosteroids. By selectively blocking the BLT2 receptor, PA501 aims to inhibit the pro-inflammatory effects of leukotriene B4 (LTB4) and 12(S)-HETE, potentially providing a novel therapeutic approach for patients with difficult-to-treat severe asthma.
