PA5346 is a second-generation biodegradable ocular implant developed to deliver a sustained, controlled release of the prostaglandin analog **latanoprost** directly to the eye over a period of up to 12 months. Once inserted intracamerally (into the anterior chamber of the eye), the implant is designed to lower intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with **glaucoma** or **ocular hypertension** by providing consistent daily administration of latanoprost, reducing the need for daily eye drops. The implant is built using PolyActiva’s proprietary Prezia drug delivery platform, which enables site-specific, controlled drug delivery and ensures the implant biodegrades after drug release, allowing for repeated administration and improved patient adherence[1][2][3][4][5][6].
