Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PA65020 is an oral fixed-dose combination of enteric-coated aspirin and immediate-release omeprazole developed to provide analgesic doses of aspirin while reducing the risk of upper gastrointestinal mucosal damage. In phase I studies in healthy adults receiving high-dose enteric-coated aspirin, PA65020 significantly decreased the incidence and severity of gastroduodenal ulcers and erosions compared with enteric-coated aspirin alone, as measured by endoscopic Lanza scores, reflecting gastroprotective effects mediated by proton pump inhibition from omeprazole while preserving aspirin’s antipyretic and analgesic actions.[1][2][3][4]
