Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PAb001 is a humanized IgG1 monoclonal antibody developed by Peptron that targets the C-terminal subunit of Mucin 1 (MUC1-C) with high affinity (KD < 1 nM). MUC1-C is a transmembrane glycoprotein that is aberrantly expressed in various cancers and functions as a non-canonical immune checkpoint, contributing to T cell depletion and immune evasion within the tumor microenvironment. By binding to MUC1-C, PAb001 aims to reverse immune suppression and enhance antitumor immune responses. It is primarily being investigated as a combination therapy with canonical immune checkpoint inhibitors, such as PD-1 antibodies, to address suboptimal response rates and overcome resistance in solid tumors.
