Overview

**Paclitaxel** is a taxane small-molecule microtubule stabilizer. In the Skåne University Hospital dialysis-access study, it was delivered locally from a paclitaxel-eluting angioplasty balloon during percutaneous treatment of stenotic native upper-extremity arteriovenous fistulas and graft-vein anastomoses. Local antiproliferative exposure is intended to limit neointimal hyperplasia and restenosis following balloon angioplasty. ([clinicaltrials.gov](https://clinicaltrials.gov/study/NCT05173857))
