Overview

CRS + HIPEC-Yonsei University-gastric cancer-peritoneal metastasis refers to a multimodal treatment regimen evaluated by Yonsei University for the management of gastric cancer with peritoneal seeding. The protocol involves cytoreductive surgery (CRS) to remove all visible peritoneal tumors, followed by extensive peritoneal lavage (EPL) and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) using cisplatin and paclitaxel. The treatment is completed with postoperative intraperitoneal chemotherapy (paclitaxel and cisplatin) and oral S-1. This approach combines the mechanical removal of tumor mass with the synergistic effects of heat and high-dose regional chemotherapy to target microscopic residual disease and improve survival outcomes in a patient population with traditionally limited therapeutic options.
