This is a combination chemotherapy regimen consisting of three cytotoxic agents—paclitaxel, vinorelbine, and cisplatin—primarily used in the treatment of advanced non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Paclitaxel is a microtubule-stabilizing agent that promotes the assembly of microtubules and inhibits their disassembly during cell division. Vinorelbine is a semi-synthetic vinca alkaloid that acts as a mitotic spindle poison by inhibiting tubulin polymerization and preventing microtubule assembly. Cisplatin is a platinum-based compound that forms DNA crosslinks and induces apoptosis in rapidly dividing cells. The combination has shown synergistic activity with manageable toxicity profiles in clinical studies for metastatic NSCLC[1][3][4].
