Overview

Padivax is an experimental pentavalent peptide vaccine being developed by POP Biotechnologies in partnership with EuBiologics (through their joint venture EuPOP Life Sciences) for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. The vaccine utilizes POP Biotechnologies' proprietary SNAP (spontaneous nanoliposome antigen particle) platform, which involves porphyrin-phospholipid (PoP) liposomes that display multiple peptide antigens in a mosaic-like fashion. Padivax is designed to simultaneously target multiple epitopes of both amyloid-beta (Aβ) and hyperphosphorylated tau proteins, the two primary pathological hallmarks of Alzheimer's. This dual-targeting approach aims to generate a robust polyclonal antibody response to clear Aβ plaques and tau neurofibrillary tangles, potentially slowing cognitive decline and improving cognitive function.
