Overview

This is a combination product containing three active ingredients: - **Paeoniflorin** is a bioactive compound derived from the root of Paeonia lactiflora, known for its anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, and hepatoprotective effects. It has been studied for use in arthritis therapy and other inflammatory conditions[6]. - **Phosphatidylcholine** is a major component of cell membranes and acts as an emulsifier. In drug formulations, it enhances the bioavailability of poorly absorbed compounds by forming complexes that improve intestinal absorption[4][6]. It also has hepatoprotective properties. - **Silymarin** (specifically its main active constituent silybin) is extracted from milk thistle (Silybum marianum) and widely used for liver protection. Silymarin exhibits antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antifibrotic activities; it reduces liver enzyme levels (ALT/AST), improves liver function in chronic liver disease including NAFLD, and supports glutathione production[1][4]. When combined—especially as a complex or phytosome—the formulation aims to synergistically enhance hepatoprotection by improving silymarin’s absorption via phosphatidylcholine while leveraging paeoniflorin’s additional anti-inflammatory benefits. Such combinations are primarily developed to support or treat various forms of liver dysfunction.
