Overview
Pai-Neng-Da (PND) is a Chinese patent medicine formulated as an oral capsule containing the panaxadiol saponin component (PDS-C), which is isolated from total saponins of Panax ginseng. It exerts dual effects by promoting hematopoiesis recovery and regulating immunity. Mechanistically, it is believed to stimulate bone marrow function and modulate immune responses. Clinically, Pai-Neng-Da has been studied for the treatment of chronic aplastic anemia (CAA), primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), agnogenic leukocytopenia, myelosuppression-induced hemocytopenia, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Studies indicate that it can be used alone or in combination with other agents such as andriol or cyclosporine to improve blood counts and clinical symptoms in CAA patients[1][2][3][5][6]. The active ingredient has demonstrated safety in both animal studies and clinical trials.
