Pain Ease

Pain Ease is a topical vapocoolant spray developed and manufactured by the Gebauer Company. It is a non-invasive analgesic composed of a 95:5 ratio of 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluoropropane and 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane. The product's mechanism of action involves rapid evaporation upon contact with the skin, which induces immediate cooling and produces transient local anesthesia within seconds. It is primarily indicated for the reduction of procedural pain associated with minor surgical procedures, intravenous (IV) cannulation, and venipuncture, particularly in pediatric patients. Unlike systemic analgesics or topical gels that require significant onset time, Pain Ease provides localized, temporary relief almost instantly and is classified as a medical device-adjacent pharmaceutical product.
