Overview

Pain-O-Joint is a topical analgesic spray developed and manufactured by Hab Pharmaceuticals. It is a combination product containing diclofenac diethylamine, methyl salicylate, menthol, and linseed oil. Diclofenac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes to reduce prostaglandin synthesis, thereby providing anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects. Methyl salicylate and menthol act as counter-irritants, producing a cooling and then warming sensation that distracts from deeper muscle or joint pain. Linseed oil (containing alpha-linolenic acid) may contribute to the anti-inflammatory profile. The spray is indicated for the relief of musculoskeletal pain, including joint pain, backache, and sprains, and is available as an over-the-counter (OTC) product in India.
