PainBloc24

PainBloc24 is an over-the-counter (OTC) topical analgesic developed by Vizuri Health Sciences LLC for the temporary relief of minor aches and pains associated with arthritis, simple backache, muscle strains, bruises, and sprains. The active ingredient is capsaicin at a 0.25% concentration, which is derived from chili peppers. PainBloc24 works by acting as an agonist for the Transient Receptor Potential Vanilloid 1 (TRPV1) receptor on nociceptive nerve fibers. Initial application causes activation of these fibers, but repeated or sustained exposure leads to the desensitization and functional deactivation of the nerve fibers, thereby blocking the transmission of pain signals to the brain. It is marketed as the only OTC topical pain reliever providing up to 24-hour relief with a single daily application and is available in roll-on and patch formulations.
