PAL-222 is an allogeneic cell therapy product developed by PharmaBio Corporation, consisting of mesenchymal stem cells derived from the human amniotic membrane (AM-MSCs). The product is formulated as a transplantable sheet intended for regenerative medicine applications. PAL-222 is currently undergoing Phase I/IIa clinical evaluation for the treatment of refractory skin ulcers, where it is surgically implanted into the ulcer site, and for ophthalmic conditions including neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) and myopic chorioretinal atrophy, where it is placed into the subretinal space. The therapy aims to utilize the immunomodulatory and tissue-regenerative properties of amniotic-derived stem cells to promote healing and provide trophic support in patients who have failed to respond to existing standard-of-care treatments.
