Palladin small interfering RNA (siRNA) is a sequence-specific RNA interference (RNAi) agent designed to silence the expression of the PALLD gene. Palladin is a cytoskeletal protein that plays a critical role in actin bundle assembly, cell adhesion, and motility. In various cancers, including prostate adenocarcinoma, PALLD is often upregulated and associated with tumor progression, migration, and mitophagy-related pathways. By utilizing the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC) to target and degrade PALLD mRNA, this siRNA inhibits the proliferation and colony-forming ability of cancer cells. While primarily used as a research tool for functional genomics and target validation, it represents a potential therapeutic modality for treating advanced or metastatic cancers where Palladin expression is a driver of disease progression.
